Summer rains do occur n Arizona, too. Since the Hoover Dam weather is like the Las Vegas weather, wear clothing that is comfortable wearing in Las Vegas the morning of your tour.

Daytime highs at the river (5,000 feet below the rim) often exceed 100 °F / 38 °C. North Rim summer temperatures are cooler than those on the South Rim due to increased elevation. The North Rim is at 8,000 feet / 2,438 m above sea level.
